When I make a pot, I am not the pot - true but that's a flawed metaphor. Potter has other material independent of him to create pot. How can there be other material independent of God to create? If so that would imply that there is another creator for that material. Which would lead to infinite regress.

Here is a more accurate metaphor:

When I do a dance, I am the dance.

The dancer cannot be separated from the dance. God cannot be separated from the creation. This is the simple truth of non-dualism. There is only one Reality - call it God or Consciousness or Intelligence, it's all there is.
